Leidos’ Defense Systems / Manufacturing is seeking a Machine Shop Tooling Coordinator to join our Mechanical Manufacturing team. Daily job tasks consist of managing the day-to-day activities in the tool crib, Pre-setting tools, Job requires knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel to track weekly tasks performed on equipment.

Primary Responsibilities
Preset CNC cutting tools using tool pre-setters to ensure accuracy and minimize machine downtime.
Assemble, measure, and inspect cutting tools, holders, and inserts per job requirements.
Work with tooling vendors to identify, source, and recommend proper cutting tools and supplies.
Maintain and organize the tool crib, ensuring proper inventory control and labeling.
Track tooling usage, issue tools to machinists, and manage re-grinds or replacements.
Inspect tools for wear or damage and remove out-of-spec tooling from circulation.
Support CNC machinists and programmers with tooling setup and availability.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the tool room.
Assist with basic troubleshooting of tooling-related issues on CNC machines.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Blueprint and tool list interpretation.
Inventory management experience.
Experience working with tooling vendors and managing purchase requests.
Manufacturing floor support.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Ability to lift tooling and supplies safely and follow shop safety procedures.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical certificate or coursework in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or industrial maintenance.
Basic understanding of CNC machine operations (mills and lathes).
Experience using tool pre-setters, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
Familiarity with common cutting tools, tool holders, and inserts (carbide, HSS, indexable tooling).
Basic knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tool wear indicators.
