As our next CNC Setter Operator Co-op, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting the production of high-quality components for our customers. Your expertise in machining principles, CNC setup, and manufacturing practices will be crucial in helping us maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards while driving continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Set up machines to produce required parts according to specifications
Install and remove spindle chucks, collets, drawbars, spindle adaptors, and cutting tools as needed
Index cutting inserts and make machine size adjustments to maintain product quality
Load and unload parts to maintain required production levels
Record and chart SPC data based on process sheet requirements
Ensure compliance with Johnson Electric’s Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems
Support safe, efficient operations and perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
High School diploma or equivalent
Computer Numerical Control Machining Program Certificate in progress
Working knowledge of machining principles and practices
Familiarity with CNC controls and programming techniques
Good mathematical and analytical skills
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Automotive industry experience
Knowledge of conventional machine methods
Exposure to SPC, 5S, SPS, or Continuous Improvement activities
Work Environment:
Indoor manufacturing environment with noise and varying temperatures, including extreme heat
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Flexibility to work overtime when required
Ability to work shifts including days, afternoons, nights, or continental schedules
