Job Summary

The CNC Programmer is a full-time position responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for a variety of equipment, including CNC plasma cutters, CNC lasers, and CNC brake presses. This role collaborates closely with engineering, materials, operations, and quality teams to ensure efficient and accurate manufacturing processes. The CNC Programmer reports directly to the CNC Programming Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Technical Work

  • Develop CNC programs for laser, plasma, and other CNC equipment based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare and modify flat patterns using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Apply K-Factor and Bend Table configurations within Inventor to ensure accurate part development.
  • Use CAM software to nest parts and maximize material utilization.
  • Create flat layouts using in-house bend deductions when required.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of CNC burn packages, nests, setup sheets, and routings.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work independently while receiving direction and oversight from the CNC Programming Manager.
  • Build strong working relationships across engineering, materials, operations, and quality teams.
  • Assist setup and production personnel with tooling, fixturing, and process-related issues.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across multiple levels of the organization.

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment; follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and support accident-prevention efforts.
  • Apply continuous improvement tools and methodologies to reduce waste and improve workflow.
  • Support all company policies, procedures, and manufacturing standards.

 

Education & Experience

  • 2+ years of CNC programming experience preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting manufacturing blueprints.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with unfolding methods, K-Factor usage, and Bend Table setup in Inventor.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Starting pay for this role is $22.00 an hour.
