CMM Machine Shop Inspector – Nightshift

A vacancy has arisen for a CMM Inspector to join the Machine Shop Inspection Department on the Night Shift. This role is integral to ensuring the continued quality and integrity of components produced within the machine shop.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Machine Shop Inspection Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for the precise inspection and verification of components to ensure full compliance with specification requirements. All activities will be conducted in accordance with established procedures, quality standards, and operational priorities.
Key Accountabilities/Duties include:
Programming and operating CMM machines to validate dimensional accuracy of components against drawing specifications.
Utilise a range of mechanical and visual inspection tools to confirm component quality.
Maintain strict compliance with engineering drawings, operating procedures, and work instructions.
Work flexibly to meet production lead times within a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
Comply fully with all Health & Safety regulations and internal safety guidelines.
Candidate Profile:
Strong background in engineering with relevant qualifications
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, and experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Experience using Hexagon CMM machines and Romer Arms.
Strong practical understanding of GD&T principles.
PC‑DMIS programming capability (highly advantageous; approximately 20% of the role).
Excellent first‑principles inspection knowledge.
Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP
Computer literate (including Microsoft Office and ERP systems) with a conscientious mind-set and a keen eye for detail; as accuracy is paramount.
Effective communication skills and the ability to remain focused and objective under pressure
