We are seeking a Supervisor for our low voltage wire harness prototype lab. These harnesses will be critical for the development of the electrical system of the vehicle. This position requires previous hands-on experience with all aspects of building wire harnesses. You can expect to build harnesses from raw materials following documentation provided by engineers. The result will be delivery of finished goods, including quality inspection. You will source and setup the tooling and equipment to build the harnesses and create robust processes with the goal of rapid and high quality harness production. As a supervisor you will lead technicians in these activities and further expand the lab’s capabilities. You will also test wire harness components for early design validation.
The Role:
- Expand the capabilities of the lab to be able to produce wire harnesses for entire vehicles at small volumes
- Expand the capabilities of the lab to be able to perform early design validation and failure analysis of harness assemblies for durability, sealing and electrical performance
- Work with engineers and technicians to build, repair, and rework automotive wire harnesses
- Organize and improve the Low Voltage Harness lab space, equipment, and inventory
- Manages other technicians with accountability for costs, schedules, productivity, and performance standards
Qualifications:
- Experience with all aspects of building automotive wire harnesses
- Knowledge of automotive wire types, components and their functions.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and 2D harness prints to build harnesses or perform reworks
- Detail-oriented and comfortable with online collaboration and documentation
- Ability to deliver consistently high-quality results when working on repetitive tasks
- Experience with MS Office
- Minimum 3 years experience in an R&D or testing environment
Preferred:
- Experience setting up wire harness equipment and production lines
- Experience performing tests and creating reports in a lab setting.
- Soldering certification
