The Global Sourcing organization is looking for an energized leader to join our leadership team. We are responsible for providing Indirect Sourcing and Procurement solutions for Agilent.

The position is a Director who will lead a group of talented sourcing professionals for the Americas region, engaging with our business executives, supporting their strategies in delivering the best sourcing value for Agilent.    The categories of responsibility include IT, HR, Professional Services and Maintenance, Repair and Operations. 

  • Proven Ability to engage with Senior Executives to support their strategies in delivering the best sourcing decisions for Agilent. Cultivate long-term relationships with both executives and key suppliers.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies that prioritize total value and consider diversity and inclusion, environmental and sustainability goals.

  • Supplier Management: Lead processes for comprehensive due diligence on potential suppliers. Evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers to drive performance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure business continuity.

  • Cost Reduction: Develop and execute cost reduction strategies, driving opportunities within the categories aligned with business priorities including negotiating contract terms and managing supplier agreements.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team of sourcing professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Compliance: Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain. Utilize analytics and AI to improve sourcing efficiency and accuracy.

  • Sustainability: Focus on sustainable sourcing practices to meet environmental and social governance (ESG) goals, ie scope 3.

The position requires a leader who is self driven, has the ability to demonstrate flexibility, navigate ambiguity, strategically consider the structure and development of the Sourcing function, experienced at leading and motivating a team, can effectively engage and influence executive stakeholders, and develop team members for succession planning.   

Responsibilities:

  • Able to focus beyond 'business as usual' -bring market intelligence and industry best practices to blend with stakeholder priorities/needs and develop best in class sourcing solutions for stakeholders.

  • Must be a strong leader experienced in cross culture leadership, be a fully engaged team player and role model for the organization.

  • Provide leadership and support to Category Managers in the development of category strategies and execution to plan.

  • Be capable to lead projects with stakeholders, partner with cross functional teams and drive procurement thought leadership.

  • Capable to perform detailed assessments when required including process mapping, metric gathering and data analysis.

  • Deliver seamless issue resolution, managing the balance between ease of operation and compliance.

  • Savings, cost reduction and cost avoidance targets

  • Development and execution of of Sourcing's strategic plan

  • Effective business executive engagement and customer satisfaction across the team

  • Driving effective Supplier relationship management (SRM)

  • Adherence to process and policy compliance

  • Responsiveness to issue resolution requirements

  • Ability to influence key stakeholders, gain alignment

  • Innovating breakthrough sourcing practices

  • Development of the team sourcing skills and succession plans

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent plus directly relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience formally or informally leading people, projects and/or programs.

  • 10 years of strategic sourcing experience

  • Able to focus beyond 'business as usual' bring market intelligence and industry best practices to blend with stakeholder priorities/needs and develop best in class sourcing solutions for stakeholders.

  • Demonstration of strong negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of negotiating complex contract terms and conditions

  • Experience with the C suite/executives, confidence to engage, influence and present strategies

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing, diverse and remote, global teams.

  • Communicates clearly both verbal and written, responds timely to email.

  • Proficient in MS Office; Excel and pivot tables, creating/presenting PowerPoint slides and sourcing software.

  • Strong project management skills

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $139,440.00 - $217,875.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
