JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing, maintaining and presenting merchandise plans including category plans, OTB’s, forecasting, assortment strategy, analysis, buyer support and product lifecycle planning to achieve increased sales and inventory turn in accordance with company sales goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maximize profitability through SKU rationalization and quantify impact on business. Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis of weekly business review. Manage stock levels for all SKUs in stores and/or eCommerce within specified categories.
- Execute and help define the strategic vision of assigned categories. Partner with team members to develop and execute financial plans consisting of sales, margin, inventory, GMROI, and turn through the open to buy process.
- Present open to buy and line review financials to senior management. Develop detailed analysis with recommended actions, risks, and opportunities.
- Train and mentor team members. Provide guidance and direction to the planning team as needed on allocation strategies, SKU forecasting, build strategies, stock balances, ordering, and overall inventory management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or related area
Required or Acceptable Job-Related Experience: Retail or Product management. Advanced analytics skills identifying trends and issues and ability to determine root cause. Knowledge of managing budgets and sales volume. Experience building and managing productive assortment.
