Job Description
Systems Administrator is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Monitors performance levels, conducts capacity planning studies, maintains current software release levels of assigned technical infrastructure and makes adjustments as necessary. Assists in logical and physical systems design and controls. Provides advanced technical expertise in support of Information Systems staff and projects. Responds to and resolves technical systems problems whenever they occur.Department: Information Systems
Starting Salary: $70,158.40+, pay based on applicable experience.
Responsibilities
Actively participates in the applications on-call rotation cycle which includes 24-hour availability, general working knowledge of most systems, ability to make correct judgment decisions, and working knowledge of operational procedures., Adheres to departmental procedures and standard work processes., Administers needed changes to procedure manuals and other documentation., Installs new systems software releases and modifications in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements without adverse effects on current production operations, and with minimal impact on development and test systems., Maintains adequate levels of security to ensure the protection of equipment and protect the confidentiality and integrity of data., Maintains a high level of knowledge of assigned systems, applications, modules and supported workflows and provides ongoing support and administration, including systems testing, deployment, performance monitoring, maintenance, issue resolution, upgrade and lifecycle management., Monitors the performance of the organization’s systems and databases with responsibility to ensure a high degree of responsiveness and reliability and to ensure completion of scheduled jobs. Notifies responsible parties of any problem indications and coordinate recovery activities for any unscheduled or scheduled downtime., Remains current on technology with responsibility to advise IS Management and to develop strategic plans for continued advancement and comprehensive support of the organizations information system requirements. Researches and recommends innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifies approaches that leverage existing resources and provide economies of scale., Works closely with other Information System staff and serves as a technical project resource as assigned.Requirements:
