About Soda Health

Soda Health is a healthcare technology company focused on building solutions which eliminate health inequities and create a healthier America.  We provide a technology platform to administer benefits personalized to individual needs, delivered more cost-effectively.  Our expertise in healthcare, retail and consumer experience provides us with the foundation for creating easy-to-use solutions with an experience which moves beyond transactional relationships to sustained engagement and overall health improvement.  That is a win for everyone.

The Job at a Glance

You will be at the core of Soda Health’s Merchants and Payments capabilities.  Reporting to the General Manager (GM) of Merchants and Payments, you will have accountability for the commercialization of our fintech and retail network assets, as well as relevant workstreams, solution areas, and partnerships.  The ideal candidate will be able to oscillate between driving high-priority strategic work and rolling up their sleeves to bring opportunities to life with a careful attention to detail and prioritization.  The role will require close collaboration with cross functional stakeholders to interpret market feedback, deliver/productize value-additive solutions, build initial iterations of opportunities, and scale/transition successful opportunities for growth and on-going operations.

What You’ll Do

Working within an organization created at the intersection of health care, retail, and financial technology, no two days will look the same.  Typical responsibilities of the role include:

  • Own the commercialization of Soda Health’s capabilities in the Merchants and Payments space; identify and research areas of potential, create framework for evaluating use-cases and business-cases, deliver workstream next steps to make opportunities a reality, and support the scaling of successful solutions.
  • Act as Soda Health’s subject matter expert and day-to-day owner of workstreams, solution areas, partnerships, and commercialization opportunities in Merchant and Payments; design artifacts for Sales, Business Development, and other internal teams that codify solution sets, and drive identifying and solving gaps in solution sets when new opportunities arise, partner closely with Sales and Business Development teams to intake market feedback, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to understand in-depth how our systems and solutions work today.
  • Manage and maintain strong external partnerships in the Merchants and Payments vertical; ideate and advocate for opportunities to extract additional value and manage day-to-day matters that arise in collaboration with other internal stakeholders.
  • Set strategic roadmap (12+ months) for Merchants and Payments in partnership with GM; analyze and determine how Soda Health’s capabilities could be leveraged for adjacent markets in the mid to long term, evaluate foundational building blocks to support opportunities, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders to make thoughtful decisions in active builds to enable solutions down the line.
  • Lead a team that supports the above and other core aspects of Soda Health’s business via a Merchants and Payments lens, and ensure other teams are setup for success whenever possible.

About You

While every candidate brings a unique resume and prospective, an ideal candidate will include:

  • 5-8+ years of progressive experience in operations, program management, or strategy roles in fintech/payments, merchants/retail, healthcare, technology, or other similar industries; prior experience in start-ups and/or rapidly scaling organizations is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience running and scaling operational and/or commercialization processes and functions; a strong candidate will have specific examples of when they owned the creation of a solution and drove its on-going management/enhancements with quantifiable results.
  • Ability and willingness to dive into both minute details and strategic plans with excitement and fervor; you enjoy questions about operational specifics and long-term visions and have calibrated your ability to be a strong thought leader and ask the right questions.
  • Self-starting builder/operator who is results-oriented, can embrace ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with critical deadlines; you have a bias for action and want to roll up your sleeves to solve a myriad of problem sets – whether tactical, strategic, or product related.
  • Strong communicator and relationship cultivator who can successfully influence and partner with various levels of the organization and key external stakeholders; a high level of emotional intelligence is a must, alongside the ability to set clear project team direction and communicate effectively with various stakeholder groups.
  • Commitment to building a diverse culture that is highly collaborative, strives to set and achieve goals together, and embraces transparency, innovation, and accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience strongly preferred.
