JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Prepares cold food menu items for cafeteria, catering and patient meals. All foods will be prepared according to standardized recipes.
Follows recipes and/or product direction for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, slicing and serving meats, vegetables and other foodstuff for consumption. This food preparation will include operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing peeling cutting and shredding for culinary use.
Follows all guidelines for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) to identify potential hazards that could occur in the food production process.
Applies correct cooking methods and techniques when producing food.
May be expected to taste product, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records in order to accurately plan production.
Sets up food prepared on serving line on time in the proper quantities. Backs up lines as needed. Responds to production needs with an appropriate sense of urgency.
Completes all Closing List job duties effectively in a timely manner.
Complies with all Health Department codes and departmental sanitation rules at all time. Maintains standards of cleanliness in personal appearance, personal hygiene, food handling and food storage. Maintains equipment and work area in a sanitary condition in accordance with established procedures and department standards.

Pay Range
