What is the Vice President, Global Investment Response Management responsible for?
We are seeking a Vice President, Global Investment Response Management to lead a global response team to run the end-to-end RFP and DDQ processes globally supporting Franklin Templeton’s growth. The team co-ordinates, creates and delivers responses for Request for Proposal (RFP), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ), and other external client-related requests, which accurately and favorably represent the organization, and its investment products and services, to prospective and existing external clients and their advisors.
This role will lead the development and help maintain an industry-leading model for RFP best practices in quality, process, technology, depth of knowledge and teamwork with the goal of helping acquire new business and retain existing relationships.
The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on continuous improvement with the ability to identify and implement best practices to stay one step ahead of a quickly evolving industry and organization. In addition, a strong knowledge of investments including new and emerging asset classes is critical. A strong leader with proven ability to manage a global organization with multiple thirds party partners is essential.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Vice President, Global Investment Response Management?
RFP Management:
Build and manage a global team that will oversee the company’s responses to RFPs and proposals from start to submission, including the development of project plans and strategies and the drafting of content ensuring all content meets quality standards and deadlines are met.
Coordinate with various internal stakeholders (investment professionals, legal, compliance, operations) to gather necessary information for RFP responses.
Drive a scalable and repeatable RFP process including knowledge database management, message writing, data collection, content synthesis, timeline management, approvals process, and reporting
DDQ Management:
Manage the due diligence questionnaire (DDQ) process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of client inquiries.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information required for DDQ responses.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and client requirements related to due diligence.
Client Relationships:
Serve as a primary point of contact for client inquiries related to RFPs and DDQs, demonstrating a deep understanding of our investment strategies and capabilities.
Build strong relationships with Global Distribution Teams through effective communication and timely responsiveness.
Process Improvement:
Continuously review and enhance RFP and DDQ processes to streamline efficiency and improve response quality.
Implement best practices and tools to optimize the RFP and DDQ workflow.
Conduct RFP win/loss analysis, gather client feedback, and identify and report on areas to improve client targeting efforts and win rates.
Continuously evaluate and identify technology enhancements
Monitor FT and competitor activities to deliver actionable insights to FT Leadership Teams
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of RFP and DDQ specialists, providing guidance on complex client requests and professional development opportunities.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture within the department.
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred.
Minimum 20 years of experience in investment management, with a focus on RFP and DDQ processes for institutional clients.
Strong understanding of various asset classes, investment strategies, and financial markets.
Proven track record in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment concepts effectively.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in client deliverables.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience adopting and using AI-enabled software to assist with optimizing the RFP process and content creation.

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $200,000 and $250,000.
