Job Description

The Client Reporting & Analytics Associate will play an integral role in the Global Client Platform Group and will be directly aligned with Neuberger Berman’s Institutional Equity Portfolio Management teams and their investment strategies. This position provides direct support to the assigned Portfolio Management and Institutional Client Coverage teams and is responsible for compiling strategy specific portfolio data and client specific materials, including institutional client reports, market related exhibits and commentary, portfolio and product analytics for pitch books, factsheets and portfolio review materials. The Associate will collaborate with Portfolio Management, Client Service, Marketing, RFP, Technology and Legal Teams to deliver client ready materials and will be involved in a variety of strategic projects across the asset class spectrum. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, as it is expected to evolve to create exposure to a broader array of investment strategies to include fixed income, multi-asset and private alternatives. The candidate should possess a strong aptitude for investment data analytics and intellectual curiosity to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand Neuberger Berman's equity strategies with requisite depth to be able to produce strategy specific portfolio analytics, such as performance attribution and fundamental characteristics. Over time, expand your knowledge of NB’s investment strategies in other asset classes

  • Function as point of contact and engage with investment professionals on investment performance, portfolio exposures, attribution analysis and summary statistics to assure accurate and timely production of investment analytics packages

  • Complete client reporting and client specific inquiries regarding equity portfolios and strategies

  • Develop and produce thoughtful and accurate client materials, including standard and custom client reports, client portfolio review presentations and commentaries

  • Assist the team in delivering on all client reporting requirements in accordance with established investment management agreements

  • Participate in the onboarding of new clients and the creation of analyses and presentations for key initiatives, including but not limited to fund launches, RFPs and client due diligence questionnaires

  • Liaise with portfolio management teams on managing and executing on ad-hoc inquiries and small projects

  • Collaborate with project management teams and IT on data automation projects to enhance portfolio analysis and client reporting

  • Participate in firm wide, client service-related strategic initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, science, or math preferred

  • 3+ years post-graduate experience in asset management or financial industry preferred

  • Highly motivated and self-driven individual with ability to work in a team environment while taking individual responsibility for quality and accuracy

  • Accountable with excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to effectively communicate and prioritize work within a dynamic, deadline-driven environment

  • Knowledge of financial markets, interest in investment strategies and security analysis

  • Experience in the development and construction of formula-driven spreadsheets, pivot tables, and macros

  • Analytical and comfortable working with and interpreting statistics and financial markets data 

  • Experience with building custom client portfolio review presentations

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required, proficiency and experience in programming preferred: VBA, SQL and Python

  • Experience with FactSet and/or BlackRock Aladdin a plus

  • Additional qualifications, currently studying for or a desire to obtain CFA (or equivalent) is preferred

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $80,000-$95,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
