The Payroll & HR Administration Officer provides general HR and payroll support, including but not limited to: HR administration and record/file management, time management and payroll; compensation and benefits, training & recruitment administration, seniority awards, etc., all in compliance with statutory obligations and best practices.

Accountabilities:

  • Handle time management of employees of Mercury EMEA branches, administer payroll and maintain employees' payroll-related records for Netherlands, Germany     and Switzerland based employees, according to policy and legal requirements.
  •  Maintain electronic and paper employee files for EMEA employees.
  •  Support talent acquisition across EMEA by ensuring adequate and compliant administrative onboarding process of new hires (collection of personal data, redaction of employment agreement, coordination of onboarding plans, etc).
  • Produce accurate, timely and compliant HR documents for employees, such as contracts, offer letters etc.
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance with German and Dutch employment laws.
  • Manage absenteeism for the Netherlands (reintegratie traject) and follows it up with the Arbodienst and UWV.
  • Ensure the link with local authorities, insurance companies, etc. in Germany, Netherlands, and Switzerland.
  • Ensure day-to-day management of the company car fleet in the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland (including ordering new vehicles and fuel cards, coordinating with the leasing company in case of issues, renewing existing contracts, and controlling leased cars and fuel invoices).
  • Act as a program coordinator for the EMEA service awards program by working closely with the HR generalists, managers and employees for a successful program roll out. Serve as the point of contact with the vendor for program related activities, including invoicing.
  • Administer the EMEA employees’ purchase program and boat rental program.
  • Coordinate training activities with external providers and ensure adequate registration of training activities in EMEA.
  • Provide active support for HR communication across EMEA for various HR programs and initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems across EMEA.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Degree in Accounting or HR related field or equivalent by experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational environment
  • Spoken and written Dutch and German, with an advanced level of English
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of payroll procedures and good knowledge of employment law in Germany and Netherlands
  • Strong team spirit and customer orientation
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Workday Knowledge of Kronos Time Management system would be advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking capability, with ability to manage conflicting deadlines
  • Professional maturity with high sense for ethics, and able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Ability in dealing with cultural diversity and comfortable to deal with people over the phone/remotely

Our offer

This exciting position is a Global Grade 10 and offers a salary of between €45,000 and €52,500 (payable in 12.96 instalments). Please be aware that this range represents the pay range for all positions within the job grade in which the post falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, experience, and location (country). We also offer the following benefits:
