Job Summary

This position is responsible for Program Ownership, implementation and maintenance of the In Service Inspection Program required by 10CFR50.55a. The Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station Unit 1 and 2 In Service Inspection Program complies with the requirements of Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, 2013 edition, Code Cases endorsed in NRC Regulatory Guide 1.147, or NRC approved relief requests. This Plan has also been expanded to include augmented in-service inspection requirements which comply with commitments made to the regulatory authorities and are contained outside the scope and jurisdiction of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section XI.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop the 10 year ISI Program Plan and associated Relief Requests.
  • Develop solutions to perform non-destructive examinations on systems and components. Develop outage examinations plans based on ASME code requirements and plant ER.
  • Conduct inspection of equipment within ASME Section XI boundary.
  • Assist and/or manage the Material Degradation Program including Alloy 600/690.
  • Augment ISI examinations to support inspections required by Material Degradation Prog.
  • Perform Alloy 600/82/182 inspections required by the Alloy 600/690 Program.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations.
  • Maintain program database, procedures and business practices.
  • Complete investigations, actions in accordance with the Corrective Action Program.
  • Support and interface with regulatory and oversight agencies.
  • Participate in industry groups, boards to continuously implement best practices.
  • Perform field walk downs, audits, assessments, observations.
  • Implement NRC correspondence and industry OE to preclude programmatic issues.
  • Support the ASME Section XI Repair / Replacement Program.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

·Bachelors of Science Engineering degree or related Science degree from a college or university with an accredited engineering program.
·10-15 years experience.
·Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes/programs
·Knowledge of ASME section XI code, preferably 2013 edition
**Level of position will be determined by applicable skills and/or experience.
