Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Assistant maintains, repairs and refurbishes elements of the camp’s physical environment to protect the health and safety of the campers and staff. The Maintenance Assistant will support a wide variety of operations related to facilities management and maintenance, including but not limited to: grounds keeping, moving and storage, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, small motor repair, fire safety, sanitation, pest control and housekeeping. The Maintenance Assistant may also provide support to program staff.

    

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age to comply with NYS Department of Labor regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and able to pass DMV screen.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds unassisted, climb and work from ladders, and be comfortable with heights.
  • Able to work weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of related work experience.
  • Experience and skill in a trade such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Able to operate a variety of vehicles including tractors, ladders, equipment and hand and power tools.
  • Willingness to support off-hour facilities-related emergencies during the week and weekends.

POSITION DETAILS:

Salary:            $22 - $26 per hour

Schedule:      NON-EXEMPT – TEMP: March 1, 2025 – September 30, 2025

No relocation or VISA Sponsorship available
