Job Description Summary:  Minimum starting salary $15.00 / hour

The Medical Office Support Staff (MOSS) provides medical office support for all Ozark Center offices.  They greet and assist individuals while ensuring the office runs effectively and smoothly, while balancing client and providers needs.  They perform and maintain medical office duties. The MOSS demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery.  MOSS provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of medical office experience or billing experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives incoming phone calls, checks voice mail, and distributes phone messages as applicable.
  • Maintain electronic scheduling calendar for follow up appointments, reschedule appointments as needed.
  • Collect payments for services rendered at the time of appointment.
  • Follow HIPAA standards in securing protected health information.
  • Enter data accurately and timely.

Physical Requirements: 

  • TB test upon hire
  • Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, and other office equipment as needed
  • Sufficient sensory-motor dexterity to complete motor skill tasks, including vision, hearing, and speech.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, and stooping.
