The Dublin EHS Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and executing EHS strategy and programs across the Mallinckrodt College Park campus located in Dublin Ireland. Leadership from this position will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations along with effective risk management. This individual will manage and lead EHS improvements across the College Park campus supporting manufacturing, engineering and development activities as part of a high performing leadership team.

Summary

The Dublin EHS Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and executing EHS strategy and programs across the Mallinckrodt College Park campus located in Dublin Ireland. Leadership from this position will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations along with effective risk management. This individual will manage and lead EHS improvements across the College Park campus supporting manufacturing, engineering and development activities as part of a high performing leadership team.

Essential Functions

Primary College Park site contact with all external Regulatory Agencies & Auditors (Health & Safety Authority, Environmental Protection Agency, EHS&S Auditors and Certification Agencies etc.) ensuring a good and effective working relationship is always maintained.

  • Serve as a part of site leadership teams to ensure EHS issues, systems and concerns have a voice in strategy and decision making.
  • Actively foster an ethos and culture of safety awareness, where safety is accepted as an integral part of the overall business.
  • Manage, implement and monitor environmental, health & safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations and company standards and policies.
  • Develop EHS objectives for the College Park Site - auditing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on their implementation and effectiveness to site management.
  • Develop and champion all KPI’s that impact EHS.
  • Drive EHS continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as ESG Site Champion.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of College Parks Environmental Sustainability Transformation by collating and reviewing data, providing guidance on environmental sustainability practices, facilitating social responsibility initiatives, and ensuring compliance with governance standards.
  • Perform incident management activities including investigations (RCA’s)
  • Design, implement and lead emergency plans and response capabilities for the College Park site.
  • Manages compliance for contractor management EHS activities.
  • Leads and manages site EHS permitting activity to ensure full compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains necessary EHS documentation in the form of data, reports, permits, policies, procedures and other written and electronic information necessary to maintain full compliance with applicable regulations and company policy.
  • Manages governance of life safety fire and property risk management programs.
  • Support and lead key strategic site projects, as a project manager (EHS, Engineering, Process Safety related projects)
  • Provide leadership and guidance to key stakeholders on Process Safety related topics.
  • Review plans and specifications for new equipment and participate in the management of change assessments.
  • Works closely with Operations, Engineering and Quality to promote safe manufacturing practices, procedures and proper use of containment equipment and facilities.
  • Manage and perform EHS hazard assessments including industrial hygiene monitoring and make recommendations to control hazards.
  • Develop, implement and maintain training programs for EHS.
  • Stays abreast of new EHS government regulations as they are promulgated as well as new developments in industry.
  • Maintain effective stock control of EHS consumables.
  • Manage the EHS department operating and capital budget within agreed targets and contribute to the annual preparation of these budgets.

Minimum Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills:

Knowledge and understanding of environment, health, and safety compliance reporting.

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to make effective oral presentations and work as part of a team.
  • To be a strategic thinker with a strong influential communication style together with the natural ability to develop cross-functional relationships.
  • Proficiency in organizing, communication, problem solving, multitasking and collaborating with others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering related discipline, such as Environmental Engineering, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10 or more years’ experience in a process safety or EHS related role with no less than 2 years of leadership experience

Organizational Relationship/Scope:

  • Reports to the Sr. Director of Global Internal Manufacturing serving as the EHS leader for the College Park Campus.
  • Works with minimal direct supervision at all times based upon the incumbent’s experience, judgment and understanding of regulatory requirements, management systems and site objectives. Most decisions are jointly made by collaboration with assigned site management teams
  • Financial responsibilities include managing assigned operating budgets and collaboration with assigned Location/Organization leader budget/spend approvals.

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal travel (US / international) is expected for this position.
  • The majority of work will be performed in typical office environment. Occasional work in laboratory, and manufacturing operations environments.
  • Position may occasionally require moderate physical work necessary for emergency response duties.
