Summary of Position:

The Product Content Specialist II is responsible for setting up and managing product content for the ecommerce sites for the PetSafe Brands portfolio, ensuring an optimal customer experience. This role involves creating keyword-rich content that is relevant, engaging, usable, persuasive, consistent, sharable, and searchable, reflecting the brand's identity. The Product Content Specialist plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining a strong brand position on the branded e-commerce websites, contributing to increased traffic, sales growth, and improved brand awareness. The ideal candidate will work autonomously within given directives and guidelines, demonstrating expertise in both content creation and the strategic application of AI for content optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide copywriting and editing for product detail pages (PDPs) and landing pages that cultivate engaging and SEO-friendly product copy to educate the customer and drive conversion
  • Research top-performing keywords and integrate them into the PDP copy to support brand SEO initiatives. Track and report SEO metrics and audit existing PDP copy regularly to refresh brand voice and increase SEO rankings
  • Collaborate with Digital Shelf Strategists and Digital Designers to achieve KPIs by creating compelling content that supports visual graphics for PetSafe.com and other platforms (landing pages, PDP image assets and infographics)
  • Incorporate best practices for using AI Large Language Models (LLMs) to optimize content and enhance efficiency and productivity in daily work
  • Facilitate Content kickoff meetings and maintain communication with Category and Brand teams to ensure copy is accurate to the product’s features and benefits and in-line with IHUT, user testing, and category interviews
  • Work with the Translations Manager to localize and manage copy translations for key international regions
  • Ensure copy is published accurately in the content management system
  • Peer review internal digital content to improve the customer experience throughout product content touchpoints, including support content, quick start guides, and other PDPs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or related field is preferred, though not required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in digital marketing content creation
  • Strong multi-tasking skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality content while meeting deadlines
  • Understands the role of content in driving web traffic, sales, brand engagement and customer behavior
  • Foundational understanding of SEO principles relative to content to drive conversion and increase SERP ranking
  • Understanding of marketing, the customer journey and storytelling as they apply in direct-to-consumer environments
  • Strong knowledge of the English language with exceptional writing, editing and proofreading abilities
  • Extreme attention to detail, style, copy and message
  • Extensive experience with Office Suite applications; experience with Product Information Management (PIM), SEO platforms, web-based collaboration platforms, and generative AI Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Knowledge in the pet industry or other consumer goods industry preferred

  • Support all PetSafe Brands™ categories with on-time project completion and legal content accuracy
  • Ensure best-in-class content for our e-commerce and retail partners
  • Support sales within online channels by increasing conversion rates and meaningful traffic volume
