Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive operations finance strategy that aligns with the organization’s overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with the executive team to shape long-term financial and operational strategies.
Financial Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis for operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting related to operational functions.
Performance Management:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational finance such as EBITDA, NOI, AFFO, Working Capital and Cash Flow. Analyze financial performance metrics and provide actionable insights to drive improvements.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with operational leaders to discuss financial results and identify opportunities for optimization.
Cost Management:
- Lead initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs and improving profitability. Develop and implement cost control measures and efficiency programs.
- Analyze cost structures and provide recommendations for enhancing cost-effectiveness across operational units.
Collaboration and Influence:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and project management, to align financial strategies with operational objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks associated with operations and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and governance practices.
Team Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing operations finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Present financial strategies, results, and insights to the executive team and board of directors. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for key stakeholders.
- Communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.
- 15+ years of finance experience, with a minimum of 7 years in a senior leadership role focused on operations finance in a multi-site or complex organization.
- Proven track record of driving financial performance and operational efficiency, with a deep understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop actionable strategies.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience managing large teams and cross-functional projects, with a focus on building high-performance cultures.
- Proficient in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
