How you will contribute
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the General Labor position in the Global Utility Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will assist with the kitting of small parts and the delivery of these parts to the appropriate locations in production. This position will also do other duties as assigned to support production. Additionally, you will…
- Grind parts in small parts
- Work from the direction of the supervisor to move pole shafts into the blast booth, and set up and operate the blasting operations
- Express equipment, parts, or procedural problems to the lead person and the supervisor
- Operate various pieces of equipment and machinery: overhead crane, forklifts, and handheld grinders
- Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without manufacturing errors
- Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management
- Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures
What it takes
Required Qualifications
- The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
- The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- At the end of 90 Calendar days the candidate must be able to maintain an acceptable level of production, quality and attendance as determined by Management.
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- One year of previous experience with overhead crane operations and forklifts
- A thorough knowledge of kitting and material delivery processes
- The ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision
- The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
- Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
