Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support, monitor and maintain platforms (IBM Jazz, Microsoft Power Platform, Nintex).

  • Support, monitor and maintain in-house developed products and solutions.

  • Analysis of current systems, including network, software, and hardware features to identify errors, risks or concerns.

  • Collaborate with teams and vendors to determine and implement new system features, upgrades, or configurations.

  • Build new solutions to automation operational procedures or address and fix identified issues.

  • Identify and define operational process and tools required to support managed systems.

  • Provide technical training and presentations of managed systems.

  • Participate in and / or coordinate the design and implementation of changes and customer service enhancements.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Completion of a secondary school diploma.

  • A college or university degree in technology related field

and/or relevant training and experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience supporting, monitoring, and maintaining platforms and applications.

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience with monitoring, administering, and configuring networks and servers.

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience administering and configuring operating systems such as Linux and Windows servers.

  • Minimum 2 years professional developing operational automations (automating admin tasks and procedures).

  • Minimum 2 years of database expertise (DB administration and creating complex queries).

  • Experience writing technical specifications and operational procedures.

  • Experience working on projects, defining functional and non-functional requirements and participated in the design/implementation/deployment of technical solutions.

  • Experience with IBM Jazz ELM would be an asset.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics or SharePoint would be an asset.

Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of monitoring and maintaining systems to ensure interoperability, reliability, security.

  • Knowledge of various database platforms.

  • Knowledge of Change Management and Quality Management processes and guidelines.

  • Knowledge of SDLC processes.

  • Knowledge of emerging trends and practices in constantly changing technology environment.

  • Knowledge in various technologies including hardware and operating systems, active directory (or similar), middleware and cloud technologies, web applications, and reporting tools.

Abilities:

  • Excellent testing skill.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Able to engage the team, voice opinion and collaborate on a solution.

  • Able to identify problems and provide solution recommendations and expert advice in area of specialization.

Personal Suitability:

  • Establish and communicate common goals and direction for team as required.

  • Seek out new avenues for building internal and external relationships.

  • Maintain positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Working conditions:

  • This position is based at the Ottawa TSC but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
