Perform cycle counts and reconcile differences, reporting them to inventory control. Investigate inventory errors, make adjustments, and provide factual evidence of error analysis. Review recommended changes and/or implement procedures to ensure inventory record accuracy is within the specified tolerance. Load trailers, transport material and ingredients to the manufacturing facility unload trailers, locate products, and pick orders. Responsible for computerized tracking and issuing of pick tickets, bills of lading, packing slips, transferring of products as well as inventory adjustments. This position may require a CDL license.

*Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6pm-6am
*Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Includes the following essential functions and responsibilities.  Other duties may be assigned by management based on business needs.

  • Determine items to be cycle counted utilizing SAP.
  • Perform cycle counts at 99th Street and Santa Fe as well as outside warehouses.
  • Demonstrate ability for precise record keeping.
  • Investigate cause of errors in inventory and make adjustments as needed to the inventory record.
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weigh or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Label or stencil identifying information onto crates or containers.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and communicate with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Route items to departments.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operate forklift to move shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage, work areas, or within warehouses.
  • Fill out forklift checklist daily.
  • Pull product needed by manufacturing.
  • Fill out a warehouse transfer log for items being loaded on trailer.
  • Load product on trailer to be taken to distribution center.
  • Unload trailer and check product against transfer log for discrepancies.
  • Help locate and relocate product as needed.
  • Pull orders.
  • Check and load outgoing freight.
  • Prepare stacks for blends.
  • Keep work area sanitary and orderly at all times.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions and work-related accidents to Team Leader, Manufacturing Manager or Safety Manager immediately.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Job Requirements:

One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Job Requirements: 

Has a CDL license or is willing to obtain one.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:  Valid forklift certification. 

Other Skills and Abilities:  Keyboard (60 wpm), data entry, 10 key, Windows (Word/Excel), familiarity with inventory and shipping procedures.
