As the OH&S Program Leader, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs to ensure a protection of our people, planet and reputation. This role involves collaborating with peers and all aspects of the businesses we support to ensure compliance to regulatory and KC policies. You'll be accountable to manage change, conduct training sessions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, KC policies and EHS standards.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement global OH&S policies, standards, guidelines and procedures that supports the EHS Maturity Model.

  • Promote our OH&S culture through continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Stay informed about existing and evolving government policies, laws, regulations, and other applicable Health, and Safety obligations globally.

  • Define and implement program roadmaps, strategic implementation plans and defined accountability that is applied globally while partnering with peers and all aspects of the businesses we support to ensure compliance to regulatory and KC policies.  

  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the identification of trends, analysis, countermeasures, that protects our people, planet and reputation.   

  • Be up to date on technological, process, industry advancements and apply those insights into deployment of opportunities to protect our people, planet and reputation.   

  • Deploy program metrics and supporting data management/analytics platforms that identifies performance gaps and drives improvement actions across aspect of the EHS Maturity Model

  • Manage the risk reduction and compliance plans of the programs, leveraging risk prioritization that informs annual resource planning. Tracking and driving delivery of these plans for both capital and non-capital initiatives.    

  • Drive global compliance to standards across the enterprise and develop action plans to remedy substandard conditions. 

  • Lead safety assessment activities across the enterprise to drive compliance with governmental, industry and K-C standards. 

  • Use insights from assessments and identified compliance gaps to establish minimum control standards and compliance requirements across the enterprise. 

  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide training and education curriculum by leveraging various learning processes and embedded operating systems, ensuring that all sectors and regions develop and maintain the required hard and soft skills and competencies. 

  • Work cross-functionally in a heavily networked environment, using leadership, high degree of influence without authority, and business acumen to evaluate risks and opportunities and propose appropriate courses of action to mitigate risks. 

  • Effectively manage multiple priorities, make decisions and drive solutions quickly and efficiently, working independently as well as within a variety of teams. 

  • Effectively intervene during periods of crisis with situational awareness and adaptability.

  • Manage activities related to risk-based audit planning/scoping, audit team selection/qualification, training/onboarding, and coordination.

  • Provide requisite guidance and assistance to Supply Chain leaders, OH&S leaders, EHS leaders and local Program Owners for compliance with government policies, laws, regulations, and OH&S obligations.

  • Make recommendations to leadership on complex matters related to crisis/risk management and compliance assurance.

  • Use digital systems/platforms to monitor existing preventive, detective, and corrective OH&S controls at operating sites.

  • Ensure effective functioning or require correction as needed to manage relevant OH&S  risks to an acceptable level.

  • Foster relationships with external partners and groups, including local auditing resources, governmental agencies, NGOs, industry groups, and scientific organizations.

  • Stay abreast of relevant OH&S policy and regulatory developments and align with best practices in Partner with relevant Global OH&S colleagues, HR, and other functional experts to develop, deliver, and maintain an OH&S compliance, conformance, and controls curriculum.

  • Build requisite skills, capabilities, and capacity at operations throughout the region.

In one of our technical roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a safety management or engineering in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.

  • Solid knowledge of local regulations, including OSHA

  • Previous experience effectively working with global teams in a heavily networked organization.

  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans on a global scale.

  • Proven ability to problem solving as well as develop and deploy effective solutions.

  • Proven project management and global program execution experience.

  • Ability to set and drive meaningful decisions through decisive decision making and appropriate recommendations that propels performance at pace while managing differing stakeholder expectations.

  • Previous experience with leveraging operational excellence processes and six sigma principles to embed standards across networks.

  • Solid communication skills with stakeholders at varying levels of the organization

  • Strategic visionary with a strong ability to influence without authority with a broad audience including external stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with digital platforms to simplify/streamline deployment processes and provide data assurance to the Enterprise and Segment organizations

  • (Preferred) Previous experience working with manufacturing sites in both mature and developing/emerging markets

Total rewards at Kimberly-Clark includes pay and a full package of benefits that can be tailored to individual needs. The anticipated pay range for this job has a range of $112,600-$187,600 in addition to bonus potential. Individual pay levels will be based on multiple factors including, but are not limited to, location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
