Job Description
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you’ll be integral to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, providing critical financial analysis support to SmartRent’s management. In this position, you will have primary responsibility for reviewing and analyzing financial forecasts, budgets and actual results. Utilizing internal systems, you will create insightful periodic reports that inform tactical and strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will analyze the impact of changing business trends on current and future operating results, ensuring that management has the necessary information to drive effective business strategies. In this position, you will report to our Vice President of FP&A and work out of our Scottsdale, AZ headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Review financial information in the company’s financial system for accuracy and consistency with SmartRent’s policies.
- Serve as a liaison between various locations, functions, and the financial analysis team.
- Compile, consolidate, and analyze accounting and financial data for internal reporting.
- Track, analyze, and document key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance accurately.
- Support the budgeting process by assisting senior leadership with the development of operating plans and forecasts.
- Assist in preparing non-GAAP financial metrics for SEC filings.
- Lead budget vs. actual variance meetings with company executives.
- Support the monthly close process by reviewing expense classifications for the income statement.
- Provide variance explanations for financial performance and cost analysis.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area and five (5) years of accounting or finance experience.
- Strong ability to design and document repeatable financial processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, particularly in financial modeling.
- Experience working with large data sets.
- Excellent intra- and inter-department collaboration skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data effectively.
- Self-starter with excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience using ERP tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the SaaS industry.
- Advanced proficiency in NetSuite and Salesforce.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills.
- Prior experience preparing dashboards and monthly financial reports for senior management.
NOTE: Must be willing to work in our Scottsdale, AZ headquarters. We have a hybrid work environment.
