OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross ® has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, team-oriented, results-driven COB Specialist to join our COB administration team. COB Specialist works to ensure the Alberta Blue Cross systems that maintain internal and external coordination of benefit data remains updated and in sync. The successful candidate will act as a COB subject matter expert with external clients and across the organization.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Handle daily and monthly COB reports generated from multiple Alberta Blue Cross systems.
- Analyze data, identify issues or trends, and facilitate solutions.
- Work with external and internal clients to administer COB while providing clear and concise direction and support.
- Ensure Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) guidelines, Alberta Blue Cross best practices, and Group, Government, and Individual Product COB requirements are being met.
- Identify enhancements to existing processes to meet the changing needs of our internal and external business.
- Align activities with other COB team members to maximize work flow and provide support as needed.
- Represents Coordination of Benefit Administration on special projects and committees.
- Complete customized process documentation.
- Continuously provide superior customer experience to both internal and external clients.
- Create a positive working environment within the team.
- Other tasks as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
- Business diploma or certificate would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of CLHIA specific to Coordination of Benefits/Group Health and Dental would be considered an asset.
- Strong experience in customer service or prior experience with benefit or claim administration would be considered an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to use the appropriate style, tone, and structure appropriate to the audience.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to recognize problems, identify causes and suggest alternate solutions.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Ability and desire to work independently and communicate effectively at all levels in the organization.
- Strong decision-making ability, particular in situations involving risk and uncertainty.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
