Position Summary

The Sanitation Technician oversees keeping every area of the building clean and in orderly condition. 

Responsibilities

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Gather and empty trash and recycling bins
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the building including Office, Labs and Plant
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms, locker rooms, kitchens and Fitness Room
  • Clean and dust furniture and fixtures
  • Will be responsible for cleaning offices and break rooms in Office, Production and Lab areas
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment in the office area
  • Check electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
  • Move heavy furniture and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
  • Notify supervisor concerning the need for major repairs to building operating systems
  • Remove snow from sidewalks using snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals as needed, around regularly scheduled cleanup.
  • Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, etc. to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
  • Clean sinks in kitchens and break rooms and wash any dishes, load dishwashers
  • Will participate in the recycling program by breaking down corrugated packaging and storing for disposal
  • Will accurately complete daily checklists and documentation for assigned work area
  • All other responsibilities as required


Skills and Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Preferred
  • Trained in GMP’s – able to be trained
  • Must be able to follow directions and perform work duties with limited supervision
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Must wear steel-toed shoes, safety goggles and a mask as necessary
  • Be constantly aware of chemicals and appropriate safety requirements and follow through with safety steps
  • Able to be trained to drive a forklift
