We are seeking a talented and experienced leader to manage our relationship activities between the organization and vendors of related products and services.  This role will ensure delivery against business goals and needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns and maintains oversight for contracted third party vendor relationships to understand interlinkages, synergies, and strategy for service delivery and performance / contract management
  • Ensures alignment of third party contracts to business strategies, including decisions around investment areas or strategic direction
  • Own and monitor budget and financial compliance of large-scale vendor contracts
  • Establishes standards, policies and procedures that direct all aspects of Vendor management and engage with key vendors personally
  • Monitors service level agreements to ensure that purchases meet ongoing business needs; addresses performance issues with vendors and arranges for resolution and restitution.
  • Drives relentless improvement of the vendor management program with a focus on cost reduction, quality improvement, supplier optimization and minimal disruption
  • Partners with operational stakeholders to coordinate the vendor management process and educate on best practices, including but not limited to timeline planning, contract change orders or re-negotiation, onboarding, training, monitoring, offboarding and assessment 
  • Works collaboratively with Legal, Security and other stakeholders in the vendor review, negotiation and approval process
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination. Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers and/or directors.
  • Collaborates with other members of the executive management team to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Adheres to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or demonstrated significant expertise in vendor management
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in vendor management roles of increasing responsibility and complexity
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks with demanding deadlines. Experience with a service-based/SLA-based vendor delivery model
  • Experience driving projects to completion, updating stakeholders and building roadmaps
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about vendor management
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
