We are seeking a versatile Product Engineer to join our team and help us build and maintain a modern system for authoring, publishing, and deploying documentation across various channels. This role combines quality assurance, dev ops, and software engineering skills to ensure that our users can always retrieve the information that they need, on demand.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, test, release, and support various aspects of the nascent ArcGIS documentation management system
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather requirements, convert ideas into actionable requirements and deliverables
- Formulate acceptance criteria for incoming work and validate that the criteria has been met when work is completed
- Collaborate with the team to maintain and improve our CI and DevOps tools and processes that promote efficient authoring, publishing, deployment, and validation of doc content and experiences
- Create and deploy automated tests using Python, Selenium, and other testing tools to be leveraged within a continuous integration framework
- Manage site releases, including pushing updates through various tiers, and partnering with content owner to ensure completion
- Perform functional and workflow driven testing (manual and automated) to assess deliverable quality and release readiness
- Monitor and maintain expected website performance and quality
- Advocate for and represent the user in product design and delivery decisions
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, quality assurance, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience with software testing, requirements gathering, and documentation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to deliver work within time constraints, in teams and individually
- Ability to understand new technology concepts quickly and apply them accurately through an evolving, dynamic environment
- Bachelor's in computer science, GIS or a relevant technology field

Recommended Qualifications
- Prior experience with website development and release workflows
- Demonstrable familiarity with Python or JavaScript for troubleshooting and testing
- Experience with QA technologies such as Selenium, Cucumber, and more
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, GitLab or similar source management tools
- Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Typescript
- Experience with content management systems
- Understanding of GIS concepts and technologies
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
