WHO YOU ARE:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Associate to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the full cycle of accounts payable tasks, including processing invoices, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor bills. This role is crucial to maintaining strong relationships with vendors and ensuring the company's financial obligations are met efficiently.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

  • Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy and appropriate documentation. Ensure invoices are properly coded and approved in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, ensuring timely disbursement to vendors.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Work with vendors and internal teams to address and resolve payment issues.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions, including payment files, vendor records, and audit trails.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendors and internal departments regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Ensure all accounts payable activities adhere to company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite)
