Job Description
We are seeking a senior leader to serve as International Project Manager (Senior Project Leader - International Programs & Enterprise Architect Engineering) reporting to the Senior Vice President of Civil Systems Group (SVP CSG). CSG offers deep technical expertise and cutting-edge innovation to support the United States government and Allies to solve complex systems engineering and integration challenges within high-consequence environments. In this exciting position, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading process management and resource delivery related activities across CSG’s international portfolio with an initial emphasis on The Aerospace Corporation UK Ltd. (Aerospace UK). The range of activities spans planning, executing, integrating, and process definition and improvement responsibilities. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to define, deploy and improve business processes and operations contributing to long-term sustainable growth.
This position requires the candidate to work collaboratively with US-based functional leaders -- finance, People operations, contracts, the development directorate, technical, program development and program execution staff to fully leverage the Aerospace Corporation's business and technical capabilities in all relevant areas, including ensuring success of Aerospace UK operations.
Work Model
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Work location for the position is Crystal City, VA.
What You'll Be Doing
- Technical leadership for business operations and development activities and coordinate with Subsidiary and international partners, subject matter experts, and engineering support across interdisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.
- Portfolio lead for process and resource delivery management of programs and pursuits underway initially with Aerospace UK.
- Assist Aerospace UK Managing Director and functional partners in capture and proposal planning for growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-organizational teams to identify, develop, and document corporate capabilities to address international customer needs.
- Assist the CSG SVP in planning and establishing international strategic relationships with potential partners, customers, and suppliers.
- Provide technical program and process management and project planning, manage implementation and resource delivery activities, and ensure timely, high quality and cost-effective delivery.
- Support Aerospace UK Managing Director to accelerate process and project management performance and enhance timeliness of deliverables, effectiveness, and sustainable growth for Aerospace UK and related international business initiatives.
- Participate in the assessment of international business opportunities and align Aerospace capabilities to address.
- Team with other Aerospace US functions and customer-facing organizations, internally and over time externally with partners and customers, to effectively partner on developing and delivering Aerospace UK and Aerospace international strategic goals.
What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Leader - International Programs & Enterprise Architect Engineering
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in engineering, science, mathematics.
- 15 or more years of engineering, program management, and international experience to include the United Kingdom.
- Experience in delivering on commitments for systems engineering and integration (SE&I) services and solutions to advance space capabilities and programs.
- Proven ability to organize, implement and maintain project management systems (e.g. JIRA, Open Plan, MS Project) supporting projects within the assigned portfolio.
- Ability to work within a team environment, where the team is distributed across multiple locations.
- Excellent written communication skills - organize complex materials and concepts in clear and logical manner, including for briefing executive leadership.
- Excellent verbal communication skills - clear, concise, persuasive; builds consensus through speaking; polished, professional style.
- U.S. citizenship with current TS SCI/TK clearance.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Technical master’s degree, international-related masters degree, masters of business administration
- Experience with program controls and quality, risk management, cost, schedule and performance management, resource loaded schedules, shared documentation repositories and change control processes
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification
- Knowledge of international allies’ space programs and capabilities
- Knowledge of and passion for Aerospace Corporation technical and scientific skills and capabilities
- Knowledge of Aerospace Contracts and/or Finance procedures and processes
