Position Summary:
The cell biology team is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior Scientist responsible for independently designing, developing, and executing hands-on in vitro cellular biology and biochemical experiments to drive preclinical target biology. As a key contributor to multidisciplinary oncology focused drug discovery teams, the successful candidate will be a highly collaborative team player who demonstrates scientific rigor and is passionate about mentoring junior scientific members within a dynamic matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently design, develop, and execute hands-on in vitro cellular biology and biochemical experiments to drive preclinical target biology.
- Apply modern cellular, molecular, and biochemical tools to model disease, identify and validate drug targets, develop and optimize in vitro biology assays, formulate responder population hypotheses, and identify mechanisms of resistance
- Proactively review literature to bring in newest scientific findings, ideas, and methods/technologies for discovery research
- Interpret, summarize, and present research findings in internal scientific meetings as part of our collaborative learning culture
- Actively participate in and partner with multidisciplinary drug discovery teams
Qualifications:
- Exceptional hands-on in vitro biology skills with deep experience in mammalian cell culture and standard cellular and molecular biology techniques (e.g. Western blotting, ELISA, PCR)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Capability to work within a dynamic matrix environment, with strong contribution to project strategies and progression
Education:
- Ph.D. in Cell and/or Molecular Biology, or Genetics, or Biology discipline with 5+ years of experience or MS with 9+ years of experience.
* The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in South San Francisco, CA is $145,000 to $160,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Terremoto Biosciences, is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
