How Is This Role Important to Our Work?

This position applies knowledge of mathematics, probability and statistics in the area of health insurance. This position identifies issues, gathers and analyzes a wide variety of data and presents results and recommendations to management. May represent the department on corporate projects.
 

A Day in the Life:

• Assumes responsibility for portion of the department workload including retrieving and analyzing appropriate data and identifying issues to be researched.
• Documentation of methods, procedures and results.
• Assists senior actuarial positions in the development of mathematical models in connection with other departments to predict the impact of proposed changes.
• Work with senior positions to understand and interpret the financial impact of decisions made by retrieving and analyzing claim costs, revenue and other relevant data.
• Provide data and analysis to assist in evaluating the impact of proposed benefit, system or process changes.
• May represent the department/division on corporate projects.
• Improve upon technical skills required for data retrieval and summarization.
• Improve upon corporate business knowledge.
• Make satisfactory exam progress according to the Actuarial Student Program guidelines.
• Other specific accountabilities as assigned by management.
   

Nice to Have:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Previous experience in statistical analysis or actuarial work.
• Data retrieval skills.
• Relational data base experience.

Required Skills and Experiences:

• At least one actuarial exam passed.
• Basic problem solving and analytical skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills.
• Works independently.

Role Designation:

Hybrid Remote

Role designation definition: Teleworking is working full time remote. Hybrid is a combination of working onsite and remotely.  Onsite is full-time onsite.
