RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare various types of cables.
Install fiber-optic lines and various types of splice closures.
Field polish connectors to improve service consistency.
Single fiber splicing.
Re-adapt. Then re-adapt again. No two days are the same.
Competently operate a light source and power meter.
Identify different types of equipment such as telephone systems, fax machines, IP related equipment, set top boxes, wireless routers, network switches and ensure the functionality of all equipment.
Maintain and inspect equipment at installation and troubleshoot effectively to quickly correct problems with service.
Ensure that all cables and cable accessories required for television, internet, and phone are working properly and are in good working condition.
Go the extra mile at every opportunity for the customer.
Ability to accept assignments that involve travel away from immediate home office area based on client needs, business needs and project scope.
A gym membership isn’t required but you will be expected to lift up to 80 pounds.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent
Associates degree or 2-4 years’ equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE:
Ability to learn and grasp new concepts on the job
Clean MVR to drive ALLO Communications vehicles
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Here’s what you’ll bring to our team:
General Knowledge of Microsoft OS
Ability to troubleshoot and work through problems in a logical manner
Understanding of email clients and how to configure them
Experience in wire fishing and pulling - No fear of heights or tight spaces
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Knowledge and ability to work with power tools
Time management and organizational skills
Prompt attendance to work and scheduled job sites
Capability of being part of a team and working closely with other team members
Obtaining and maintaining ALLO Communications required tool supply
Safe handling of all products
Accurate paperwork (time sheets, change orders, delivery tickets)
On-call rotations once trained to a competent level
Ability to QA/QC installs performed by peers and relay information succinctly
Effectively communicate with subscriber and organization when working advanced troubles
MDU/MTU fiber optic installations
Understand the basics of network routing protocols
Ability to travel outside of the home office area for extended periods of time based on project and business need.
