As a Regional People Business Partner, you'll play a key role in driving JD Finish Line's talent strategy forward. You’ll be the go-to person for coaching and advising our business groups across our JD Finish Line and Finish Line Macy’s stores. Your mission? Primarily responsible for participating in the development, interpretation, and execution of company policies and procedures.
Acts as a business partner to the department(s) by providing HR business expertise and perspective to support the development and execution of department initiatives.
Executes the JD Finish Line employee relations strategy by conducting complex investigations, oversees investigations performed by others, elevates matters and/or seeks advice, as needed, to ensure effective resolution.
Interviews employees to determine reactions to specific actions taken and prepares reports on relevant data collected.
Completes team tactical duties, such as ER case entry in ERMS, exit interviews, performance data, new management check-ins, departmental check-ins, etc., ensuring that data collected is accurate and complete for optimal decision making.
Collaborate with assigned business groups to create and implement development and performance improvement plans, address employee relations issues, and manage succession planning.
Partners with HR Compliance and Legal leadership ensuring the company remains compliant to local, state and federal legislation. Supports bringing compliance initiatives to life in stores.
Provides consultation and explanation on company and governmental rules, regulations, and procedures and need for compliance to mitigate risks, to various audiences.
Support cross-People team happenings to assist other teams’ initiatives when interfacing with retail business partners (communications, leaves, benefits, DE&I); works closely with retail leadership to ensure communications to stores are clear, effective and have maximum reach.
Analyzes information gathered and recommends appropriate action up to and including termination.
Approves all management level actions to include performance management, progressive discipline and terminations before implemented.
Assesses talent by recognizing, coaching and providing meaningful feedback to department leaders for purposes of succession and workforce planning.
Guides management in the correct and consistent application of policies and procedures.
Fosters and maintains effective partnerships across the organization.
Assists with the communication of new policies and procedures.
Conducts training sessions periodically to train new leaders on company policies and procedures, as well as updates on policy and procedural issues.

Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 1 – 2 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 2-4 or more years additional experience as an Human Resource Generalist or equivalent. PHR and/or SPHR certification preferred.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Google platforms, Excel and Access as well as a basic understanding of functions and relationships of information in Workday / Ceridian system and ERMS software.

Average work week is 40-50 hours, which can vary depending on business needs.
Spending up to around 50% time traveling (by air or land).

The base pay range for this position will be $85,000 - $95,000 (depending on experience) with a 15% bonus target. This role will be eligible for benefits including PTO, medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance.
