Lead regional Product Purchasing Activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the development of, execute, cross-functionally communicate and maintain Global Strategic Commodity Business Plans which include:
- Supplier Rationalization Strategy (grow/fix/exit strategies), develop short, mid and long-term supplier business roadmaps.
- Commodity Benchmarking – regular benchmark of purchasing price (internal and external) as well as understand key commodity cost drivers.
- Track and communicate global commodity industry trends, competitor strategies, economic factors and opportunities in global market.
- Drive/Deliver Cost Improvement activities for Charging by assigned commodity.
- Identify and drive cost reduction activities and assure cost competitiveness in pursuit of new business and profitability of existing business.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Lead resolution of commercial issues with Global/Key Commodity Suppliers when necessary
- Maximize the leverage of the global team
- Create bundled opportunities to leverage global buy
- Support Supplier Selection process
- Work collaboratively with all affected RU's: seek cross-functional input to maximize overall impact
- Gain Sourcing Board approval on sourcing recommendations when needed (resource, raw mat, etc.)
- Manage the supply base globally
- Track Supplier Performance Metrics - Quality, Delivery and Cost
- Understand supply base structure, financial strength, book of business, manufacturing/engineering capabilities, open capacity, strengths and weaknesses
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Engineering's degree from a four-year College or University and MBA or secondary graduate degree required
- 10+ years Supply Management experience working in Charging or Automotive Production Purchasing
- Exceptional track record on achieving Cost Reduction Targets year over year
- Preferred with Knowledge of Charging Commodities (Power Module, Charging Gun, Sheet Metal, Electrical Components, PCBA)
- Success history on developing suppliers overseas, so they grow as Global Vendors that can provide Global Solutions
- Fluency in Foreign Language preferred
- Work as a team player
- Critical Analysis Skills
- Excellent Negotiation Skills
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Must be able to work within a Team environment of conflicting opinions, ideas and solutions and provide clear direction to reach alignment of all stakeholders.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills - Position interacts with all levels of BorgWarner/Supplier Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
