Role:
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Director, Strategic Finance, to lead the development and implementation of quantitative frameworks for 5-year planning and capital allocation to guide strategic investments across the company. Key responsibilities include driving FL97’s forecasting process via a detailed projection model, being a central figure in communicating company strategy quantitatively and collaborating closely with several teams to ensure that resource allocation and value creation are tightly coordinated. The role will exist in Lila's Business Operations section, eventually reporting to the CFO but working closely with the CCO, Materials, in the interim.
Outcomes
Framework Development and Planning
- Develop a 5-year plan framework for Lila's businesses.
- Establish a quantitative framework for capital allocation between platform and product investments that will be updated regularly per company operating rhythm.
- Establish a strong partnership with CCO, CPO, and Senior Accounting leaders to design commercialization and investment frameworks to ensure value creation is realized on both a cash and GAAP basis.
Financial Modeling and Analysis
- Become the owner and loving parent of the Lila Projection model, including diligencing all inputs and providing curated outputs to aid in strategic discussions.
- Own the financial model for fundraises, including supporting investor requests as needed.
- Participate actively in the New Product Introduction (NPI) Process to develop financial models to support introducing new programs and projects.
- Assist in translating the Projection Model to an annual budget for spending decisions.
- Own scenario analysis to support budget allocations.
Reporting and Presentations
- Prepare board and investor materials.
- Present the forward outlook at Rolling Operational Planning Reviews (ROPRs).
- On an interim basis, until a more formal Investor Relations capability is built, be the central point of contact for all investor diligence or relations requests.
Collaboration and Partnership
- Establish a strong partnership with FP&A to create a shared understanding and cross-finance ownership to maximize the use of or address shortcomings in changes in resource requirements.
- Assist fundraising efforts by completing various tasks associated with capital formation.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Finance, Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in similar roles at early-stage or growth-stage companies.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Experience with AI and machine learning is a plus.
