Our ambition is for customers to feel rewarded for their loyalty and therefore to increase their engagement. At a high level, the roles mission includes:

  • Setting the overarching Loyalty strategy for Zalando across all propositions, in alignment with the Zalando Group Strategy but also learning from industry best practices.

  • Establishing Loyalty thinking across Zalando; helping commercial leaders to utilising loyalty as a key commercial mechanism in their Go-to-Market strategies. 

  • Building and evolving a global loyalty platform and loyalty experiences for our customers; be overall responsible for the customer experience, features and also commercial viability of the model.

This team is critical for Zalando to deeply understand our customers, build deep relationships with them and provide them an outstanding experience. You leverage the loyalty program to create strong not only amazing experiences but also help achieve commercial results.

The Role

As the VP Loyalty, you are responsible for our loyalty programme, Zalando Plus. With the support of the entire company and a dedicated team of > 40 talents across commercial, product and software engineering, you are committed to rewarding our customers and increasing their engagement by building, evolving and operating Zalando Plus. 


Specifically, this role will focus on:

  • Drive the business - You steer the global awareness and adoption of Zalando Plus. You develop loyalty as a key lever within our commercial toolkit and successfully establish loyalty as a defining framework through which teams take commercial decisions. You  build our global loyalty platform and prioritise local and global benefit and experience requests in line with our Zalando group strategy and the strategic roadmap for Zalando Plus.
     

  • Leadership & responsibility - As a leader of leaders, you inspire and engage the team, fostering a team spirit to build, evolve and operate and evolve our loyalty programme. You empower cross functional teams to operationally deliver, sharing accountability for performance. You provide strong leadership by developing, coaching and mentoring others. 

  • Strong business partner - You collaborate strongly with your peers cross functionally  to drive the strategic roadmap for Zalando Plus and to bring the cross-functional team behind the strategic priorities. Problem solving and galvanising strong buy-in to the key strategic initiatives that will enable Plus to grow.

To support in realising the ambitious goals for the team, we are seeking to appoint an experienced executive leader that brings the following qualities

Leadership - You excel in influencing, collaborating and managing multiple stakeholders at all levels effectively. You understand the challenges of a fast-paced fashion/e-com business and are exhilarated by this. You are a fully trustworthy person, collaborative, influential, led by integrity, energy, empathy and an optimistic can-do-attitude. 
 

Strategic Vision - You have a proven track record in strategy development and execution. You will define and implement the strategy for Zalando Plus in line with our Zalando group strategy, taking our loyalty programme to the next level. 
 

Technical Background - We expect you to fly high and dive deep. Strong hands on experience and leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams is needed including product management and software engineering. 
 

General professional experience & skills - You have relevant professional experience and are a senior and highly respected leader with a strong record of success. You have expertise in working in an international set-up. Having an in-depth understanding of E-commerce is a plus. 
 

Entrepreneurial & analytical mind - You demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial spirit, with deep expertise in reaching and engaging specific user/audience segments through a targeted value proposition strategy. You apply the latest insights and KPIs to strengthen the market position and to drive market share and revenue growth. 
 

Achieve results through others - You challenge, problem solve and strategically drive initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You are a highly reliable, credible, agile business partner, passionate and driven to win but able to view things holistically, choosing the right battles and investment choices that add value and solve for our customer’s needs.
