The Role

Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure – good at providing analysis, documenting and diagraming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally “figuring it out.” This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients.

Combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. The candidate will manage cloud infrastructure and operating systems, lead operational teams, and ensure compliance with Kyndryl’s standards across AWS, Linux, and Windows environments. Japanese communication skills are essential

AWS Operations

• Raise and manage incident cases within AWS scope.
• Perform minor version upgrades via AWS Management Console.
• Manage IAM users, roles, policies, and privileged/non-privileged IDs.
• Configure EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, Security Groups, NACLs.
• Modify Route53 DNS, CloudFront, WAF, ACM, ELB, KMS.
• Manage AWS resource tags, backups/restores, and CloudWatch rules.
• Investigate AWS notifications and determine response actions.
• Follow documented procedures for all AWS tasks

Linux Administration

• Maintain OS and software configurations.
• Handle vendor support inquiries.
• Manage SSH key passphrases and API keys.
• Execute tasks per standard operating procedures

 Windows Administration

• Modify OS settings for Windows virtual servers.
• Coordinate with vendors for OS/software support.
• Perform tasks as per documented procedures

🔹 Tooling & Automation

• Monitor performance and capacity using CloudWatch, M&EaaS, JP1/IM.
• Conduct trend analysis and data extraction.
• Maintain CACF environments (Ansible Tower, GitHub).
• Upgrade standard playbooks and support automation initiatives

PDCA / ITIL4-Based Operations

• Execute recovery processes and document incident outcomes.
• Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Manage change records and reflect configuration updates.
• Ensure compliance with Kyndryl security policies.
• Conduct health checks and address deviations.
• Manage user IDs, access rights, and approval records.
• Handle service requests and analyse performance trends

Japanese Communication

• Communicate with customers, vendors, and project members in Japanese.
• Interpreter support is available for non-native speakers

• Establish, create, and respond to new procedural documentation.
• Investigate and resolve issues not covered by existing procedures

Leading Skills

• Manage and mentor team members within the India delivery unit.
• Control task execution and ensure timely completion.
• Escalate incidents to Sendai CIC (KJTS) Leader.
• Ensure work quality and collaborate with Sendai and project teams for continuous improvement

There are two halves to this role: First, contributing to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems. And second, long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution. This role isn’t specific to any one platform, so you’ll need a good feel for all of them. And because of this, you’ll experience variety and growth at Kyndryl that you won’t find anywhere else.

You’ll be involved early to offer solutions, help decide whether something can be done, and identify the technical and timeline risks up front. This means dealing with both client expectations and internal challenges – in other words, there are plenty of opportunities to make a difference, and a lot of people will witness your contributions. In fact, a frequent sign of success for our Infrastructure Specialists is when clients come back to us and ask for the same person by name. That’s the kind of impact you can have!

This is a project-based role where you’ll enjoy deep involvement throughout the lifespan of a project, as well as the chance to work closely with Architects, Technicians, and PMs. Whatever your current level of tech savvy or where you want your career to lead, you’ll find the right opportunities and a buddy to support your growth. Educational Qualifications & Experience

Required Technical and Professional Experience
 

Minimum 7-year Experience in relevant filed

• Deep expertise within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
• Enterprise IT application experience
• Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in public cloud AWS domain
• In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• Must have experience driving for engineering solutions and working across teams
• Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce conclusions and responses.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
• Strong process improvement experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or a related field is required.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

Relevant certifications such as:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional

• In depth knowledge of Amazon cloud hosting architecture with experience with AWS and Azure is a bonus
• Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities
• Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
• Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
