The Role

Do you want to be at the forefront of designing and implementing cutting-edge network solutions? Within our Network Services team at Kyndryl, you will be the go-to expert for providing top-of-the-line technical solutions throughout the entire solution lifecycle. You will be responsible for creating local and wide-area network solutions that utilize multiple platforms and protocols, ensuring that our customers have the best possible network infrastructure to support their business needs. 

Your skills in routers, networking controllers, bridges, and networking software will be essential as you troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with vendors to install the latest hardware and software, such as routers and switches. Not only will you help keep our customer’s networks running smoothly, but you will also work on project implementation, conduct project planning and cost analysis, and build proof-of-concept solutions with networking system technology.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to review project requirements, communicate them accurately to the team, and ensure they are appropriately fulfilled. You will use your expertise to design and implement local and wide-area network solutions, including IP and VOIP, that address customer requirements. You will also provide high-quality technical solutions to our customers to prepare them for implementation, go-live, and maintenance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Operations Centre  - NetSec- Engineer L2 to join our Infrastructure & Network team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cloud Operations in Azure, AWS, GCP,  DevOps, and AIOps, with hands-on experience across multiple technology domains including Windows, VMware, databases, middleware, storage, and backup systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will act as NetSec Engineer on Public Cloud and related technologies for the Cloud Team.
  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization’s data, systems, and networks.
  • Troubleshooting security and network problems.
  • Responding to all system and/or network security breaches.
  • Ensuring that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
  • Participating in the change management process
  • Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities
  • Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization
  • Evaluating the organization’s security needs and establishing best practices and standards accordingly
  • Designing, implementing, maintaining, overseeing, and upgrading all security measures needed to protect organizations’ data, systems, and networks.
  • Responding to all security breaches to the network and associated systems.
  • Troubleshooting all network and security issues and incidents
  • Routinely conduct penetration testing
  • Taking appropriate security measures to ensure that the organization’s infrastructure and existing data are kept safe.
  • Conducting testing and scans to identify any vulnerabilities in the network and system.
  • Taking an active role in the change management process.
  • Ensure proper and regular maintenance of firewalls.
  • Make sure that web and email security protocols are maintained.
  • Track, record, and monitor any security issue.
  • Resolve any vulnerability or security issues that may arise.
  • Ensure periodic testing of the organization’s network and systems from a security point of view.
  • Be aware of the latest threats in the cybersecurity domain to guide and advise the organization regarding the up gradation of systems.
  • Put identity and access management (IAM) policies in place to prevent unauthorized access to company data.
  • Ensure that systems are back up and running in case of a security attack.
  • Make sure that security policies are updated on time and are always up to date.
  • Maintain servers, routers, and switches as required.
  • Maintain firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, VoIP, and web programs and protocols regularly.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 – 12 years of experience in Cloud infrastructure and network engineering.
  • Completed training & Certifications in Azure, AWS and GCP Aarchitect level
  •  ·  This job role demands exceptional skills to ensure that there are no vulnerabilities in the system at any given point in time.
  • A network security engineer needs to continuously upgrade their skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting regular vulnerability assessments of the systems to prevent any security incident.
  • Thorough knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, and Javascript.
  • Expertise in penetration testing, networking, system administration, and operating systems.
  • Awareness of the latest methods used by hackers and malicious elements to break into systems.
  • Competency to use the available tools to discover any dubious movement in the system.
  • Capability to manage risk and ensure disaster recovery in case of a security event.
  • Soft skills, including effective communication with team members and senior management and fast decision-making.
  • Ability to conduct an in-depth analysis of computer networks and identify any vulnerabilities or gaps in the system. Attention to detail is a fundamental personality trait of a network security engineer.
  • Quick decision-making to ensure faster recovery in case of a security event; this also helps in the quick fixing of flaws.
  • Good exposure in Azure/AWS/GCP.
  • Hands on experience in VPN, NSG, Firewall, WAF administration, troubleshooting and vulnerabilities/audit remediation.
  • Nice to have deep knowledge in CloudFlare, Aviatrix, Azure NSG, Palo Alto , F5 , NetScaler etc
  • Self-motivated, energetic and tenacious and working well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines is a must
  • Good verbal and written communication and documentation skills with close attention to detail and accuracy
  • A keen interest in new technologies and willingness to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant
  • Skilled in building a strong rapport with customer and internal support teams in a managed services environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • One of the certifications – AZ-900 and ANS-C01,SCS-C02, AZ 400, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer are desirable
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
