As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the Platform Engineering Core Services team using AI technology. Your project will include using Agentics and AI Foundary to create an Agent that goes beyond low-level operation and begins to perform higher functions such as assessment, valuation, estimation, and discernment. AI plays a significant role in Premera's strategy to not only differentiate from competitors, but to also deliver as much value to customers as possible. Program Details and Requirements:
Premera’s Summer Internship Program is June 15th – August 21st 2026.
To be eligible for the program, you must currently be enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate degree program or have recently obtained your degree (within the last 12 months).
This is a hybrid internship program located on our campus in Mountlake Terrace, WA.
Internship Projects and Goals:
Complete projects and meaningful assignments in Cloud space, pushing boundaries with the newest design and engineering practices.
Contribute solutions to help our current process of maintaining compliance with Premera controls in Azure.
Assist in working directly with Solutions Architects to document POC (Proof of Concept) requirements.
Collaborate with Engineers on the POC and assist in documenting the pattern.
Incorporate AIOps into Azure platform delivery to help automate code and automate problem resolution.
Find areas where AIOps can be used to help developers and platform engineers debug code and automate problems before they are a problem to end customers and consumers.
Learn alongside a dedicated, upbeat team who are eager to mentor, teach and contribute to your future career.
Be challenged by unconventional thinking and collaborate with individuals and teams to accomplish organizational milestones.
What You Will Bring:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master's degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or have recently obtained your degree (within the last 12 months) (Required)
Understanding of “full-stack” development or devops, devsecops concepts.
You take initiative, persevere, stay curious, and are energized by lifelong learning.
An engineering mindset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Plus Salary Range:
$44,400.00 - $82,200.00*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
