The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

The Raytheon Technologies Corporate Core Network Services organization is currently recruiting for a Manager, Cyber Defense. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with internal Raytheon Technologies  business units to evaluate network security issues, propose design options, and work with network engineers and implement new cloud firewall deployments from a network and security policy perspective.   

The candidate is expected to be proficient on Palo Alto and Checkpoint cloud firewall administration with at least 8 years of firewall management experience and a strong networking background. Prior experience supporting acquisition and divestiture activities as it relates to network security is preferred.  Expertise in DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management systems is also important. 

What you will do: 

  • Experience with administration and deployment of Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewall, Azure, AWS, and Oracle clouds including all aspects of design, procurement, installation and maintenance  

  • Network and security architecture and design experience around AWS VPC and DirectConnect supporting high availability and secured AWS zones and VPCs 

  • Network and security architecture and design experience around Azure and ExpressRoutes 

  • BGP routing experience with private and public clouds 

  • Design, implement and support private and public peering for cloud exchanges with best practices in mind for routing and firewalls 

  • Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud authentication mechanisms 

  • Sound project leadership and organizational skills 

  • Troubleshooting firewall and access issues using a variety of logging and monitoring tools 

  • Responsible for overall stability of the firewall environment (product lifecycle) 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience 

  • Understanding of DNS/DCHP/IP address management systems  

  • Thorough understanding of firewalls, NAT and packet filtering 

  • Knowledge of current cyber security threats along with steps and methods for mitigating these risks 

  • Expertise in basic scripting languages (Perl, VBScript, PowerShell, terraform preferred) 

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

Hybrid - Farmington CT (or possibly Andover, Tucson, Dallas, or Cedar Rapids)

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
