We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety.

About the Opportunity
The Cloud FinOps Engineer will play a key role in managing, optimizing, and ensuring cost efficiency in our cloud infrastructure platforms. The role will collaborate closely with Engineering and Operations teams to drive cloud financial transparency, enable cost-effective decision-making, and implement best practices for cloud cost management.
Using a deep understanding of cloud cost management, financial operations, and cost management tools and practices, the role will influence cloud usage behaviour, establish financial accountability in cloud services, and contribute to the financial success of the company’s cloud strategy.
Ability and willingness to participate in an out-of-hours roster to support technology changes, as required.
About You
You’re a proactive professional with 3+ years of experience in cloud financial operations and infrastructure management, with a strong understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. You’re skilled in cloud cost optimization, financial reporting, and using tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, and Azure Cost Management.
You excel at analyzing data, creating budgets, and communicating financial insights to both technical and non-technical teams. You work independently in fast-paced environments and ensure compliance with privacy, security, and fraud prevention standards, contributing to a culture of integrity.
Ideally, you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or a related field, and a FinOps certification. Experience with cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and advanced scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell) is a plus.
