Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions for clients. This role involves ensuring that cloud environments are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance. The candidate will work closely with clients and internal teams to develop best practices, troubleshoot technical issues, and support cloud migration and deployment strategies. The ideal professional will possess strong technical expertise in cloud platforms, networking, security, and automation, contributing to the organization’s cloud transformation objectives.
Software Requirements
Required:
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Proficiency in virtualization, networking, and security within cloud environments
Experience with cloud native services, cloud storage, and compute resources
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation (preferred)
Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems and scripting for automation
Use of cloud management tools and dashboards
Preferred:
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Cloud security best practices and identity management (IAM, LDAP, Active Directory)
Monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Stackdriver)
Overall Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure tailored to client requirements, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop cloud migration strategies, architecture designs, and deployment plans.
Automate cloud deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and operational workflows using scripting and IaC tools.
Monitor cloud environments for performance, security vulnerabilities, and compliance issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, including network, security, and system performance challenges.
Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Support cloud-related incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Educate teams on cloud best practices, security policies, and cost management.
Technical Skills (By Category)
Cloud Platforms (Essential):
AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with practical deployment and management experience
Infrastructure as Code (Preferred):
Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools for automated provisioning
Networking & Security (Essential):
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnets, security groups, load balancers, IAM policies
Cloud security best practices (encryption, identity management, compliance)
Containerization & Orchestration (Preferred):
Docker, Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment
Monitoring & Logging (Preferred):
CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Stackdriver or equivalent logging and monitoring tools

Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years supporting cloud infrastructure, deployment, and management.
Proven experience designing scalable cloud architectures supporting enterprise workloads.
Hands-on experience with cloud security, networking, and automation tools.
Experience managing hybrid or multi-cloud environments is a plus.
Industry experience in financial services, health, or other regulated sectors is advantageous.
Alternative pathways include extensive cloud infrastructure support in large-scale enterprise environments supporting digital transformation.
Day-to-Day Activities
Design and deploy cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and resilience.
Automate deployment, configuration, and operational workflows for cloud environments.
Monitor cloud systems for performance, availability, and security; perform troubleshooting as needed.
Optimize resource utilization and implement cost-effective cloud strategies.
Conduct security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance checks.
Collaborate with development and security teams to ensure best practices are followed.
Support cloud migration projects and infrastructure upgrades.
Maintain documentation related to architecture, deployment procedures, and operational guidelines.
Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and disaster recovery planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
3+ years of hands-on experience supporting cloud environments at scale.
Demonstrated knowledge of cloud native services, security, and automation in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Professional certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Engineer) are a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
Experience supporting enterprise digitization, digital transformation, or regulated industry cloud projects.
