Cloud Engineer
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This role involves the end-to-end lifecycle management of a mission-critical Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform. As a Senior Engineer, you are expected to not only maintain the system but to optimize its architecture for scalability and resilience in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
Own a Managed File Transfer platform hosted in Kubernetes
Ensure the security of application data in a highly regulated environment
Leverage automated tools to ensure availability and performance of all application components
Thoroughly troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and create mitigations, all while communicating proactively with affected teams
Work with internal and external customers to explore new use-cases and execute onboarding plans
Ensure application upgrades are deployed in a timely manner with minimal downtime
Manage internal admins of the application
Create and maintain automation to meet various objectives
Create documentation for best practices, important processes, issue mitigations, etc.
Respond to issues with a level of urgency appropriate for the business impact
Skillset:
• Strong problem-solving capability, including leveraging of monitoring tools to gather information
• Understanding of public cloud concepts and technologies
• Understanding of containerization and container orchestration
• Scripting capability, ideally with Bash and Python
• Understanding of networking concepts including firewalls, load balancers, DNS
• Understanding of relational databases
• Systems mindset with an ability to understand architectures and consider system-level concerns
• Sense of curiosity and willingness to self-direct learning
• Experience with Terraform or another IaC technology
Qualifications:
• 1-2 Year of experience with GCP or AWS, certification.
• 1-2 Year of experience with Kubernetes or strong willingness to learn
• 3 Years of experience developing or monitoring critical applications
• 3 Years of experience in data center domains (server, network, storage, security)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to apply critical thinking to all aspects of the position
• Detail oriented with excellent documentation skills
