Cloud DevOps Engineer

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to join our expanding Infrastructure team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering teams, playing a key part in deployment and operations. You’ll gain hands-on experience with on-prem cloud infrastructure, automating deployment processes, building pipelines, troubleshooting, and improving reliability. This position offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career by tackling infrastructure challenges and making a meaningful impact on our delivery. Key responsibilities include managing Kubernetes deployments (maintaining namespaces, configMaps, stateless deployment and configuring services, routes, scaling, and load balancers), provisioning and maintaining GitHub repositories with compliant workflows, automating build processes via Jenkins pipelines, managing configurations on Jboss/Tomcat instances, and devising solutions for versioning, branching, and backups.

What will you do?

  • Onboard, provision, and manage repositories and cloud namespaces across projects and environments. Work with Infrastructure as Code to manage platforms and rulesets
  • Work directly on projects to inject Kube configurations to deploy on Openshift. Patching base configurations for higher environments, including reviewing springboot and gradle setup.
  • Integrating scanning tools and strategies in build pipelines. Controlling gates for promotion
  • Create and maintain robust monitoring dashboards, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high availability and rapid issue detection.
  • Troubleshoot system outages, investigate performance issues, and participate in incident response activities. Work closely with software developers to streamline workflows and address infrastructure requirements or constraints
  • Scanning: Enforce all enterprise require tools are integrated and all security standards are being adhered to safeguard data and maintain system integrity
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure architecture, deployment procedures and operational runbooks

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 2+ years of Kubernetes experience, deploying applications using k8s kube configurations in cluster environments.
  • Cloud automation expertise on OpenShift and Azure, including application deployment and management.
  • Strong pipeline scripting skills with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Monitoring proficiency using tools like ELK Stack, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Azure Monitor, and OpenShift.
  • Compile/ Build skills with Gradle, Maven, npm, and Docker, plus infrastructure knowledge in Linux, Bash, Groovy, and az-cli.
  • Cloud security fundamentals (encryption, certificates, load balancing) and familiarity with Java Spring Boot projects, alongside tools like GitHub, Vault, Artifactory, and SonarQube.

Nice to have:

  • Cloud & Infrastructure Expertise: Experience with Terraform, ARM Templates, AWS Cloud, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
  • Scripting & Development: Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, Node.js, and Xcode-based projects.
  • Security & Key Management: Advanced knowledge of key management algorithms and cloud security fundamentals.
  • Certifications & Databases: Relevant certifications in Azure/AWS/Linux/GitHub and experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
