What You Will Do
Design, implement, and monitor secure, scalable Azure cloud environments that enable data, AI/ML models, and application platforms to operate reliably at enterprise scale.
Define cloud standards, reference architecture, reusable patterns, and governance models that guide engineering implementation across the team.
Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to ensure seamless integration of models into production.
Architect Azure compute, networking, storage, IAM, and security configurations, ensuring proper segmentation, performance, compliance, and alignment with mission needs.
Design and implement modular Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for repeatable deployments.
Ensure Security-by-Design (SbD) through IAM, network segmentation, compliance and governance standards.
Monitor cloud environments for performance and reliability. Maintain standard uptime and develop disaster recovery strategies.
Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize system performance.
Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Develop trusted relationships with clients by understanding their mission, challenges, and goals, and delivering tailored solutions that drive innovation in AI/ML and data science.
What You Will Need
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
Minimum of SIX (6) years of relevant professional experience.
Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Compute, Networking, Storage, Security).
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates).
Strong knowledge of networking principles and cloud security best practices.
Ability to design for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of identity and access management (Azure AD).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
Ability to understand client mission and business processes and adapt solutions and approaches accordingly to be successful.
Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in small teams.
Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
Ability to operate successfully on remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the DC metro area.
What Would Be Nice to Have
Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
Relevant experience supporting Department of State or other Federal Government organizations.
Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate certification.
Familiarity with AI/ML deployment patterns and MLOps frameworks.
Skills in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash).
Hands-on experience with performance tuning for large-scale workloads.
