Cloud Analyst Intern (Summer 2026)

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This Cloud Platform Analyst Summer Intern position provides hands-on exposure to the design, analysis, and support of Skechers’ cloud infrastructure and platform services. This role is ideal for a motivated student or early-career technologist eager to learn modern cloud practices, automation, and infrastructure management.

As a Cloud Platform Analyst Intern, you will collaborate with cloud engineers and platform teams on real-world projects, gaining practical experience while contributing to initiatives that enhance scalability, security, and operational efficiency across the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Support the configuration and monitoring of AWS resources, ensuring alignment with best practices for performance and cost optimization.
  • Analyze AWS S3 bucket configurations and assist in validating security policies, permissions, and access controls.
  • Help evaluate and improve IAM policies by supporting the transition from user-based access to role-based access (e.g., STS).
  • Contribute to cloud resource inventory and reporting by leveraging AWS services such as AWS Resource Groups and AWS CloudTrail.
  • Assist in building dashboards or reports to provide visibility into cloud usage, security posture, and operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document cloud architecture, processes, and standards.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving basic cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Familiarity with AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) through coursework, labs, or personal projects.
  • Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP).
  • Exposure to scripting or programming (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
  • Understanding of basic security principles and identity/access management concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and collaboratively.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker) or orchestration tools (ECS, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Experience with Linux or Windows environments.
  • Awareness of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
  • Interest in cloud security, automation, and platform engineering.
  • Ability to document technical processes and communicate clearly with team members.

The pay rate for this role is $25/hr.
