Job Description:

  • Role type: Maximum Term, Part-Time (24hrs/week) until November 2026 with potential to extend

  • Role grade: Administration Officer Level 3, Year 1/2

  • Salary: $71,072.43 – 73,287.41 (pro-rata) + super + salary packaging

About the role

  • Provide vital administrative support to the Nursing Unit Manager, including recruitment coordination, staff appraisals, training records, and performance review processes—playing a key role in keeping the unit running smoothly.

  • Manage rostering and workforce systems (e.g. Kronos), ensuring accurate updates for leave, shifts, and payroll, while liaising with Payroll to resolve enquiries efficiently.

  • Support data-driven decision making through accurate data entry, report generation (finance, quality indicators), and participation in audits, accreditation processes, and incident management activities.

  • Coordinate day-to-day ward operations, including scheduling multidisciplinary rounds, preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and ensuring timely follow-up on actions.

  • Contribute to high-quality patient care by maintaining stock and equipment, supporting quality improvement and research activitie

About you

  • Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage workloads effectively, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with strong attention to detail and a typing speed of 50+ WPM.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of patient administration systems and a compassionate, confidential approach when supporting patients and carers.

  • A reliable team player who thrives under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision while handling a broad range of administrative tasks.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with cultural awareness and the ability to engage respectfully with diverse and vulnerable communities.
