Department:

Medicine | Radiology

Clinical Research Specialist in the Department of Radiology who works closely with Comprehensive Cancer Center's Clinical Trials Office & College of Medicine's Clinical Trials Management Office for all Nuclear Medicine and Theranostics related clinical trials and research projects; reviews protocols to determine if protocols follow established routine care and coordinates with radiology resources; works closely with leaders as new protocols are introduced and recommends assignments; plans, oversees, and leads coordination & execution of imaging and therapy-based clinical research projects in accordance with approved protocols; coordinates and documents radiologic & theranostic patient care services; evaluates patients for compliance related to protocol; participates in internal audits; prepares for and assists with monitoring visits by sponsors and/or regulatory agencies; ensures compliance with all Institutional Review Boards (IRB), FDA (Federal Drug Administration), federal, state and industry sponsor regulations; participates in developing plans to meet requirements of new studies/protocols; participates in planning, organizing and preparing for external quality assurance and control reviews; develops and implements sponsor-required training needs; assists with training of technologists, students, residents and fellows on clinical research processes, purposes and regulations; leads protocol specific in-services for research team; works with departmental finance office and Research Billing Office to initiate and track research invoicing; serves as a resource for team members, PIs and administration; serves as the primary liaison between researchers and Radiology clinical staff; attends training conferences, seminars, and study-related meetings; leads and implements process improvement projects for the Department.

Additional Information:

Minimum Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent combination of training & experience required; active registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required; current nuclear medicine license from Ohio Department of Health required; experience in clinical research capacity conducting clinical research studies preferred; experience as a nuclear medicine technologist providing patient care services required; clinical research certification from ACRP (Assn of Clinical Research Professionals) or SoCRA (Society of Clinical Research Associates) certification desired; Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
