Position Summary
The Clinical Research Assistant will support ongoing community-engaged research initiatives within the IGNITE (Innovations in Gerontology and Implementation for Translation and Engagement) Lab. The lab is dedicated to improving health outcomes for older adults and individuals living with chronic conditions through the development, implementation, and dissemination of evidence-based practices. This role involves direct participant interaction, data collection in community settings, and contributions to research dissemination activities.
About the IGNITE Lab
The IGNITE Lab partners with clinical and community organizations to ensure research is meaningful, practical, and impactful. Current research priorities include:
Developing and adapting interventions for organizations serving older adults
Testing implementation strategies for integrating evidence-based practices into routine rehabilitation care
Building capacity among health professionals to apply research evidence in clinical practice
Key Responsibilities
Research & Data Collection (Primary Responsibilities)
Conduct primary data collection in participants’ homes and community settings, ensuring adherence to study protocols and ethical standards
Interact professionally and respectfully with older adult participants and individuals with chronic conditions
Collect, manage, and maintain both qualitative and quantitative research data
Assist in data cleaning, coding, and analysis using appropriate methodologies
Ensure accurate documentation and secure handling of research data
Scholarly Contributions
Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
Assist in developing abstracts, posters, and presentations for academic conferences and community dissemination
Support literature reviews and synthesis of research findings
Lab Operations & Administrative Support
Provide general support for day-to-day lab operations
Assist with study coordination, scheduling, and communication with research partners
Maintain organized records, supplies, and research materials
Participate in lab meetings and contribute to collaborative projects
Operational & Support Tasks
Run errands to pick up or deliver research materials or assist with participant-related needs
Support special projects as assigned by the Principal Investigator or lab leadership
Perform additional duties as needed to support research and lab functions
Job Requirements
High School graduate required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 0 years of relevant experience required.
Research and Scholarship - Clinical Research - Individual Contributor - T1
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
